Suzuki DR650 Motorcycle- 3rd Gear Disintegration Problem- Court Case Result
The Small Claims Court in Hillbrow, Johannesburg.South Africa |
After having experienced a 3rd gear catastrophic disintegration on my 1997 Suzuki DR650 motorcycle in November, 2014. I became aware, via the internet, that this is a common problem amongst this model- with many cases being recorded globally. I approached Suzuki Auto South Africa for relief regarding this problem. None was forthcoming and I reluctantly (as a last resort) turned to the courts for this relief. Suzuki defended the action against them.
On the first of December 2016, the small claims court of South Africa ordered that Suzuki Auto South Africa pay for my repairs regarding the 3rd gear latent defect.
